(or, how 3 orthogonal colours are painting my world)

The new year has come and gone & we are entering the final week of January. Ordinarily, this simply means that first coursework sets are coming due and I am settling into a new schedule, but this year the end of January carries much more weight.

We are entering admissions committee decision time. That is, it is time for a select group of professional academics to decide if my (relatively recently acquired) goal of obtaining my Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics can even get off of the ground.

These are long odds, but I have worked hard and am praying for the payoff.
