Still Alive...
by Tom
... but just barely. I've literally been working on my Electricity & Magnetism take-home exam an average of 4-5 hours per day since I got it Monday and still am not finished (it's due in 10 hours too, geez). I've also had an incredible music week... for me right now, busy equals good.
I played guitars at Roland-Grise MS last Sunday (see here), had Overflow rehearsal on Monday, played guitars and keys at Overflow on Tuesday, met up with Sean, Dave, Rich, and Lee Hester to make some music on Thursday, had Ripple Effect Rehearsal on Saturday, played guitars at Mayfaire yesterday morning (see here), and played guitars at Ripple Effect last night (see here). You add all that together and I've been averaging about 5 hours of sleep over the last week, which is no good for a guy who has a hard time function on less than 7 hours... I've been taking ibuprofen as often as medically possible yesterday and today to hold back an impending migraine.
But like I said, I love playing music... I love being busy. Playing at Ripple Effect was a highlight of the week for me... I "grew up" in Ripple Effect as a high school student and I rarely play there anymore (playing the "big church" services and then playing the youth service is pretty taxing, I've gotta say). This week was special for me, too, as I got to play with 3 of my best friends (Chris, Missy, and Brooks). I love performing with and just being around those guys... it's like second family. You know how it is (I hope). And also, we played sweet. It was really tight sounding.
In any case, there is my excuse. Not that I was too busy to post; rather, I was too busy to notice anything interesting enough to write about (unless you're interested in the momentum carried by electric fields). But this week should be calmer (knock on wood). Only 3 class days this week, and I'm already halfway done with the homeworks and projects due before Easter break. Also, I only have Overflow on Monday and Tuesday, rehearsal on Thursday, and Port City Church's patented Super-Mega-Service-Thingy this weekend (services at 5pm & 7pm on Saturday and 8.30am, 10.30am, & 12.30pm on Sunday). So hopefully I'll have something to write about... even if I just need to vent about guitar parts on Thursday.
Love to all. Tom
Listening: Krzystof Penderecki (good, creepy studying music).

Get some sleep, Tom. Stop taking drugs.
Hope to hang out soon - what are you up to over the break?
