Tagged!

Duane "tagged" me a couple of days ago and I have been slacking in the posting department... I apologize.

So I must list 10 "random" things about myself:

1. I get hung up thinking in circles about what specifically a "random" attribute about myself is.

1.5. If "random" truly means a selection not based on a specific method, then the next random fact would be that I am loving The Myriad's new record right now, With Arrows, With Poise... it is strangely apocalyptic at times and very epic-sounding.

2. I love weather. Absolutely love it. Within a couple months of living in NW Arkansas, a bad tornado-spawning thunderstorm tore the roof off of our house. I've been a part of a handful of tornado evacuations and (am pretty sure that I) have seen a tornado. I equally enjoy hurricanes. Certainly, no one enjoys the damage storms cause, but their existence and powerful effects are amazing.

3. I really, really hate being in large groups of people... I get nervous and claustrophobic. But I love New York City.

4. I don't like/dislike The Beatles. Never have listened, really. Here's where "real" musicians recoil in horror.

5. I finally decided I wanted to take a shot at playing music "professionally" (whatever that means) freshman year of college when I interviewed Mark Lee for an Honors Presentation.

6. Right now, I'm way into the theory of light. That mutually perpendicular time-changing electric and magnetic fields can propagate themselves without any external force or medium is astounding... and this has nothing to do with the quantum theory of light (possibly even more crazy). But I've always been way into science... even when I was a little kid.

7. I just ate a peanut butter & jelly sandwich for lunch. I am very nearly addicted to peanut butter & several diet cherry-flavored beverages... ask Martha, she'll verify.

8. I've played on 4 different records, but I've only played electric guitar (the one instrument I would claim some amount of proficiency with) on two of them.

9. I am pretty dang good at Guitar Hero... I just finished Guitar Hero 2 on Expert with 5 stars on every song and am nearly finished with Guitar Hero 3 on expert, even though I just started "playing" a while ago. Sadly, I've had to give it up for the semester (not counting spring break)... it wastes too much time that should be spent solving the wave equation (see #6).

10. So far I have attended pre-school, public school & private school, have been home-schooled, I am in my Junior year at UNC Wilmington, and I plan to continue with graduate school as well (continuing my sampling of the various American schooling experiences, haha). In addition, I have lived in 5 states, travelled through a number that I cannot remember, been to 9ish countries and almost lived in Mongolia. Pretty much all before I turned 16.

Okay... I think that's it. Next up? My roommate Chris Denning.
